Intricate Patterns

Here we go again. This is my first post since…well you know.  The World gets ever stranger. Terrance McKenna described this universe as “…a novelty producing engine..”. He gets no argument from me. I’m just not sure how much “novelty” we can take. But if there is equilibrium in the Universe (and I believe there is) I say every time you make the mistake of watching “the news” take a deep breath and realize that all of the madness you see is accompanied by an equal, if harder to find and poorly presented, amount of beauty. You just have to look for it.

So we’ve all been locked down, masked up, caged in and freaked out for a long time. If you’re like me you start creating ways to entertain yourself and feel productive.  I’ve been making lyric videos.  I first made a few for friends whose work I admire and now I’m making them for myself as well.  I chose “Crop Circles” as my first because I knew immediately where the video was going.  Also because I’m happy with how that song feels. It all came together the way I’d hoped and it says something to me that I can’t say as well any other way. I wanted to make visual the complexity of the music, the abstraction of the imagery and the point of the lyric. It seems to work.

If you find it entertaining, provocative, or pleasantly ridiculous please pass it on.  Either way thanks for watching.  Assuming we can avoid a new disease, assault on democracy or medieval invasion in the next week my next post, with a new song, will be up then.  Yours in the infinite moment, Kent
